Communications guidelines
MiB Communications are a joint effort between many actives in the local branches, the MiB-wide social media team, and the office staff. Your contribution is indeed valuable and much appreciated!
The office staff regularly arranges English communications training for actives. You don't have to have previous experience of comms to join, just come and learn with us. Start by reading through the communications handbook (below) and spot the training from active letter.

Our new communications handbook for actives provides tools for tailored writing - how to address your message to mothers in different life situations and how to approach moms with international background.
By reading the handbook, you will learn a lot about MiB’s tone of voice, ready visuals and social media. You’ll also find out how volunteers and MiB staff communicate and work together.
MiB Slack channels glossary
Trying to find your way through the jungle of MiB’s Slack channels? Worry not, this glossary will help you find the right people, and join the channels that interest you the most! Here are some of the most important ones:
#international - the main channel for discussing MiB activities in English.
#internationalevents - for discussions concerning the organization for MiB events in English
#international_some - channel for sharing content in social media
#kysy_työntekijältä - ask a MiB employee
#viestintä - joint channel for MiB communications. You can post here in English too!
#yhteiset - joint channel for everyone at MiB. Used (sparingly) for things that are important for everyone to know.
