Skill badges

MiB has launched digital skill badges that can be added for example to your CV or LinkedIn. We know that MiB's active work enhances skills and we want people to be able to showcase it.

Recognize your skills!

MiB offers digital badges to its actives through the Open Badge Factory. The badges are currently available in Finnish but MiB International actives can of course also apply for them!

MiB Event Expert (Tapahtumaosaaja) - You can apply for the badge if you have organized at least three MiB events during your active period.  The recipient of the badge is able to conceive, plan and implement a MiB event.

The applicant for the badge demonstrates the following skills in organizing MiB events:

  • Ability to conceive, plan and implement an event (which enhances the professional competence or the well-being of mothers).

  • Ability to organize the event from start to finish and act as the person in charge of the event team.

  • Ability to contact the speaker, reserve the venue, make a budget, handle the marketing and registration of the event, and collect feedback and take care of the after-marketing of the event.

  • Can take into account and facilitate the networking between event participants.

  • Ability to organize an event in which mothers can participate with their children.

Apply for the badge. (The information needed in the application: Name, Email, local chapter and names of the MiB events you have organized, minimum: 3.

MiB Volunteer Leader (Vapaaehtoisjohtaja) - An active can apply for the badge after having attended MiB's training in volunteer leadership, and having been a volunteer leader in MiB for at least one year. Volunteer leadership training will be offered in English in 2022. The badge holder is able to inspire other volunteers to act in accordance with MiB's values and towards MiB's goals.

The applicant for the badge demonstrates the following skills:

  • Planning, leading and implementing inspiring volunteer activities

  • Planning and conducting volunteer meetings

  • Creating and maintaining a positive and energizing community spirit

  • Evaluating and developing operations by collecting feedback and development suggestions and conducting self-assessment

  • In addition, she has created a positive and appreciative culture through by her own example.

The competence has been demonstrated in the application and assessed by a representative of Mothers in Business MiB.

(The information needed in the application: Name (Nimi), Email (Sähköposti), local chapter (hakijan paikallisjaosto), free-form application text (hakemus) and when have you taken the volunteer leadership training (Milloin olet osallistunut MiBin vapaaehtoisjohtamisen koulutukseen). /This badge is so far only in Finnish as the volunteer management training had not yet been offered in English.


Volunteering certificate

You can also ask for an official certificate of your active experience, which you can request to be signed by your chapter’s lead or HR lead. Together you can plan what should be included in the certificate. If you have volunteered for MiB International without affiliation to a local chapter, you can request a certificate from the office.
