New members elected to MiB's board and a new strategy for 2024–2026 approved at MiB’s autumn meeting

The autumn meeting of Mothers in Business has elected Olivia Kuusinen as the chairperson of the association for the 2024 term, alongside five new board members that were elected for the 2024–2025 term. In addition, the autumn meeting approved a renewed strategy for the association for 2024–2026.

At the autumn meeting of Mothers in Business association, held on November 18, 2023, Olivia Kuusinen was elected to continue as the chairperson of the association's board in 2024.

Kuusinen is an economist by training and works as CEO of the growth company Suomen Rokotepalvelu Oy. The election committee that interviewed board candidates describes Olivia as an inspiring and courageous leader with business and strategy skills. She also has good knowledge of the association, which is a great starting point for effectively developing MiB’s activities.

"I thank the members for their trust and I look forward to moving MiB's new strategy forward together. It's a pleasure to start implementing it all the way from the board to the members," says Kuusinen.

"In the coming strategy period, it is important to emphasize the relevance of the association's activities, both from the point of view of society and the individual member. In the following years, we want to focus on steady membership growth and content that serves our members."

The board and its work for the family-friendliness of working life attracted widespread interest

Executive director Annica Moore is pleased with the interest in Mothers in Business' board search. Four (4) people applied for the chairpersonship of the association and 28 people applied for the board membership.

"The applications for the board were of a really high standard this year, and we got wonderful talents to lead the association," commented Moore. "It is a pleasure to see that the work for equality and the family-friendliness of working life inspires a wide group of professionals."

At the autumn meeting, five people were elected as board members of Mothers in Business association for the 2024–2025 term:

Noora Alanne, Pirkkala

Noora Alanne is a Doctor of Economics, Head of Growth in digitalization and media industry at an employers' association and Director of the Media Industry Research Foundation of Finland. Alanne has strong knowledge of growth management and competence development as well as education policy, which is useful in strengthening MiB's continuous learning and competence development activities.

Irina Kalmi, Kirkkonummi

Kalmi is an experienced and versatile expert in management and advocacy activities. She has a versatile career, giving her the capacity to cover several areas of expertise in the board’s work. She has excellent networks and experience of working in management team positions, on boards as well as as a sparring partner for leaders.

Terhi Kytö, Sipoo

Terhi Kytö brings strong financial management and legal expertise to the board. Kytö works in risk management in the finance industry, as the Secretary of the Board of the Nordea Mortgage Bank Plc and as the Chair of the Board of Finnish Women Lawyers Association.


Hanna Lehto, Helsinki

Lehto has versatile experience in corporate leadership and change management. She has worked as HR Director of a listed company (incl. management team responsibilities) and as communications and marketing director. Through her strong management experience, Lehto has a strategic view of working life and a passion for improving the status of women.

Sanna-Riikka Valtonen, Turku

Valtonen has strong professional expertise in personnel development. She is responsible for leadership development and talent management of a large corporate group. Valtonen has successfully worked in volunteer management and in association leadership positions both at MiB and the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCI). Her expertise brings a valuable addition to the board's work in supporting and developing MiB's local activities and volunteer management.

In addition to the newly elected, Eeva Reittilä, Taina Vallander and Netta Huttunen will continue on the board in 2024.

MiB renewed its strategy for 2024–2026


At the autumn meeting, Mothers in Business association’s a new strategy for 2024–2026 was approved.

MiB wants to be a vibrant, transformative and growing organization promoting equality and family-friendliness in working life. In the coming years, we aim for a strong membership base and vibrant local activities throughout Finland. We are a bold reformer of working life and an inspiring network for professionals interested in their careers. Together, we create the world's most equal and family-friendly working life.

During the next three years, MiB will focus on developing its operations in a member-oriented manner and will design inspiring and value-producing content to cater to the interests of its various volunteer and member profiles. We also want to increase the recognition of MiB as the main advocate of family-friendliness and equality in Finnish working life and strengthen our relations with political and working life decision-makers. We aim to expand the funding base of the association in order to strengthen the basic operations.
