Communications guidelines
The goals of MiB's communication are increasing the visibility and recognition of MiB's message, changing the attitude atmosphere of working life to a more family-friendly one, supporting membership retention and acquiring new MiB members.
The tone of communication reflects our values, and we want to communicate about topics that are important to us in a positive and solution-oriented manner. We are inspiring and emphasize us-spirited activities and doing things together. We encourage networking and actively network ourselves.
Start by reading through the communications handbook (below) and spot the training from active letter.
Communications handbook
Our new communications handbook for actives provides tools for tailored writing - how to address your message to mothers in different life situations and how to approach moms with international background.
By reading the handbook, you will learn a lot about MiB’s tone of voice, ready visuals and social media. You’ll also find out how volunteers and MiB staff communicate and work together.
We have lots of ready-made images and visuals!
Here is a general folder, where you can find pictures we have made, divided into folders by subject. You can also add here the pictures you have made. Add them into an existing folder, or make a new one if the subject doesn’t have its own yet.
By adding pictures to any folder, you will give MiB a permission to use them on its public channels.
Tips for photos and videos
Use MiB's brand colours, red, blue, yellow or sand as a background wherever possible. Read more specific instructions from our brand book. As fonts, we use fonts from Play Fair Display -serie.
It’s a good idea not to put too much text in one picture, and keep the layout of the pictures clear.
Canva is a very easy program to use for creating images. Canva has a free version, and a pro-version. With the pro-version you have access to more image bank elements and images, plus a variety of tools to make it easier to use.
The free version works well if you use it only occasionally, but if you use it a lot, the pro-version is better.
